As the festivities continue into January, we are ready to round up the products that have kept us happy and entertained this month and ready for more fun and celebration next. Here are our December Favourites.
Clearspring No Added Salt Rice Cakes
These flavoursome rice cakes are absolutely perfect for sweet or savoury toppings. Thinner than the average rice cake, these are light and crispy and make perfect snacks, starters and sides.
Pukka Night Time Tea
This soothing and calming tea is perfect for a busy season and has been seeing us off to bed during a period when we highly value our rest. Made from organic chamomile, lavender, limeflower, licorice, holy basil and oat flowering tops, this sweet and fragrant tea makes the perfect night cap.
Hambledon Organic Mulling Spices
A huge fan of their teas, it is no surprise that we have loved Hambledon’s organic mulling spices this month. Perfect for use with wine, cider or fruit juices, antioxidant rich cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, hibiscus, juniper berries and bay leaves infuse and flavour beverages to produce unique and perfectly spiced drinks.
Rebel Kitchen Organic Coconut Water
Sustainably harvested, raw and organic, this is the best bottled young green coconut water we have ever tried and everyone we give it to agrees. Great for cocktails and mocktails, it’s beautiful pink colour only enhances. Our one wish is that it be bottled in glass.
Da Mhile Orange 33
This decadent organic orange liquer from Welsh distillery Da Mhile has made Christmas beverages all the better. Light yet rich, this syrupy, citrus drink is made from orange wine soaked fermented oranges, aged in oak casks with quartered oranges and whole coffee beans. Warming and extremely easy to drink, this will be taking pride of place in our drinks cabinet all winter.
Better You Magnesium Oil
It’s cold and fresh outside and after invigorating winter walks, our bodies need a little extra TLC. This easy to use magnesium oil spray provides it, remineralising the body, encouraging production of oxygenated energy, soothing and relieving tired muscles and improving uptake of other vital minerals. Massage into tense or tender areas before bed and wake refreshed and revitalised.
Greenfibres Organic Cotton Covered Kapok Pillow
We have long been fans of kapok stuffed cushions and pillows and these from Greenfibres are supportive, bouncy and extremely comfortable. Kapok is a hollow fibre with a texture similar to down or fresh wool and offers a perfect cruelty free option for bedding. Whilst this kapok isn’t certified organic, it is grown without the use of pesticides and is packed into organic cotton covers, the outer of which can be removed and washed.
Thought Clothing Organic Men’s Knitwear
We have lived in these beautifully made, soft organic jumpers this past month, small for women and large for men and will keep doing so all winter. Cable knit with a high scoop neck, long sleeves and plain back, this is knitwear for the conscious consumer who chooses not to wear animal products but refuses to compromise on quality.
The Standing Chandelier by Lionel Shriver
The first fiction book we have ever featured on The Love Place, this short and compulsive read is such an insightful portrayal of separate realities we find we cannot stop recommending it. A fascinating novella that centres on the experiences of three characters, Shriver’s perspicacity shines as she details the thoughts, feelings and actions of each as they navigate ego, love and will.
