Easy Energy Cleansing for the Home

We know that everything is in the Universe is made up of energy and the vibration of energy. All physical and solid seeming particles are actually vortexes of spinning and vibrating energy. Those in the worlds of alternative healing and metaphysics speak of changing our energy state via our thoughts that raise our vibration, releasing and re-routing energy blockages via physical movement and cleansing the energy in our homes through techniques such as smudging and chanting.

Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.”

– Niels Bohr

It is said that if everything is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies then we can transform the energy around us by changing the frequency at which it vibrates. Higher vibrations are associated with positive and empowering emotions that attract positive and empowering energies and opportunities. Those is the manifestation field claim that we can get what we want in life by matching the vibrational frequency of the things we wish to accomplish or acquire.

Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind.

– Deepak Chopra

So how does this translate to cleansing the energy in the spaces we call home? For centuries, indigenous cultures have used techniques to transform and clear energy. Nowadays these same techniques are used to generate house sales, recover people from illness and create general peace and happiness within the home. Five easy ways to cleanse energy are smudging with sage, burning incense, burning palo santo, clapping and chanting.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.

– Albert Einstein

The most common and well known method of energy cleansing is sage smudging. A bundle of white sage is lit and the smoke is used to cleanse the air around a person and their space. In terms of science, burnt sage releases negative ions that are linked to an increase in good moods and cleanse the air of bacteria. In terms of the spiritual, the smoke of the burnt sage absorbs and clears negative emotions and energies.

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.

– Nikola Tesla

Incense is said to clear a space by calling upon spiritual energies that purify and cleanse by removing negative influences. The smoke connects us with our higher consciousness and our energetic bodies are protected and healed. Myrrh, Copal, Frankincese, Benzoin and Dragon’s Blood are most popular for energy clearing.

You, yourself, are the eternal energy which appears as this Universe. You didn’t come into this world; you came out of it. Like a wave from the ocean.

– Alan Watts

Traditionally burned by the Incas, Palo Santo wood is a popular energy cleansing tool. The palo santo tree grows in South America and is related to copal, frankincense and myrrh. It is known as ‘holy wood’ and releases a fresh and uplifting scent when burnt that is associated with raising spiritual vibration, protecting the immune system from attack by disease and illness, decreasing inflammation in the physical body and healing emotional pain. It is believed to provide protection from negative energy and fill the home with good luck.

We live at the threshold of a universal recognition that the human being is not mere matter, but a potent, energetic field of consciousness.

– Michael Beckwith

Vibration and frequency create sound although we may not be able to hear it. Sound clearing is believed to be a powerful method of transforming energy within and without and a simple and easy way to shift and clear energy is by clapping. The impact of the sound creates dynamic change in the body and the space around us. Clapping invigorates energy points in the hands that move chi around the body and opens up the heart space which makes us feel more in tune with the frequency of love. Clapping from floor to ceiling with arms wide apart between claps uplifts the energy of a room.

Energy is in constant motion and never rests. It is forever moving from one form to another.

– Jack Canfield

Chanting is an ancient cultural technique used to activate energies and uplift the spirit. Just as certain music can boost the immune system, different sounds can align us with vibrations that create and encourage health, happiness and unity. Chanting raises the vibration of the body and the space around us, connecting us with the divinity of the Universe. Chanting the word ‘Aum’ is said to align mind, body and spirit by connecting us with the energy of all that is. Aum represents the fundamental energy behind all of creation.
