April has come and almost gone and we have compiled a list of our favourite finds and enjoyments from this month.
Hemp Clothing from Thought
Perfect for this time of year, hemp clothes are airy, durable and substantial enough to provide warmth. Mens and womens hemp clothing from Thought is well made, long lasting and washes well. We love this brand and their ethos; supporters of the slow fashion movement, they use natural, organic and recycled materials sustainably made into clothing by workers protected by a code of conduct that ensures fair wages, healthy working conditions and skill development. Orders are delivered in recyclable and reusable paper envelopes and returns are paid for by the customer to discourage unnecessary shipping.

Hurraw Sun Balm
As the days get longer and brighter and we spend more time outdoors, sun protection for sensitive areas such as lips can be essential. Not only does this lip balm provide long lasting protection, it is natural, vegan and made from premium raw, organic and fair trade ingredients including red raspberry seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, pomegranate seed oil and non nano zinc oxide. It goes on thick and makes lips white, keeping them protected from burning and over exposure all day.

Raspberry Karma Kombucha by Biogroupe
Our favourite kombucha company has come out with a new flavour for spring and this raspberry addition to their range is light, fruity and delicious. We have mentioned Karma Kombucha before and no doubt will again; their packaging is recycled, recyclable, reusable and biodegradable, their products are carbon compensated and their kombucha is fairtrade and bottled by Handi production, giving jobs to disabled people. Refreshing in every way.

Go 4 Raw Crackers
Snacking is an essential daily activity for us and it’s important that the food we eat in between meals is healthy and nutritious. Our new favourite snacks are raw crackers from Go 4 Raw. Light, crisp and full of flavour, these dehydrated delights come in bite size squares. Our favourite are the Quinoa and Veggi Crackers made of just tomato, almonds, carrots, linseed, quinoa, onions, sea salt and basil; super flavourful and so good for us.

Clearspring Organic Instant Range
We are huge fans of Clearspring and their conscious and ethical approach to creating food. Their new Instants range features products such as porridge, quinoa and cous cous, all of them ready in seven minutes or less. Hulled grains and pseudograins allow for fast cooking times and these little portions are perfect for travel and work. Our favourite is the Mega Porridge made of just buckwheat, coconut and flax.

Living Nutrition Kef-flamex Supplement
Living Nutrition use a unique kefir fermentation to convert a select range of foods and herbs into a living matrix of bio-activated nutrients, enzymes and micro-organisms. This activated nutrition supplement for physical wellbeing is a synergistic blend of active nutrients including reishi, turmeric, green tea, holy basil, rosemary and ginger. We feel more energised and balanced when taking this and are looking forward to trying more from the range.

CELLFOOD Oxygen Supplement
The world’s number one selling oxygen and nutrient supplement, CELLFOOD is a combination of trace minerals, trace enzymes and trace amino acids that gives us a feeling of better overall health. Its colloidal and ionic formula has a negative charge that allows for the rapid absorption and assimilation of nutrients allowing the body to more efficiently eliminate toxins and balance pH. In studies, CELLFOOD has been shown to decrease excess free radical activity by up to 27%, decrease lactic acid accumulation and increase oxygen uptake and ferretin. Yeast free, gluten free, soy free, alcohol free, sugar free, GMO free and vegan, it is also non toxic, non invasive and non addictive.

What the Health Documentary
We watched this in March but have spent all of April talking about it, sharing it and recommending it. Touted as the health film that health organisations don’t want us to see, What the Health is the follow up film from the creators of the award winning documentary, Cowspiracy. The film exposes the collusion and corruption in government that is costing trillions of healthcare dollars and keeping people sick. Exposing why health organisations keep recommending food known to be disease causing and carcinogenic, this eye-opening documentary exposes the big business that is the illness industry and how governments, fast food chains and health organisations are working together to keep people sick.

The Power of Kindness: The Unexpected Benefits of Leading a Compassionate Life by Piero Ferrucci
In a world where we are bombarded by bad news we often forget how helpful it is to simply be kind and compassionate to each other. Every one of us affects somebody else throughout our day and the kinder we are to that person, the kinder they will hopefully be in turn to somebody else. Kindness and compassion are not merely beneficial, they are necessary. This gentle book is full of beautiful sentiment that speaks to the intellect as we as the soul. A reminder that kindness and compassion are not only available to us but proven to benefit us all.

Guided Morning Meditation
The benefits of meditation are well known and ever growing as research continues to be carried out into this life enhancing practice. Proven to calm the mind, deepen compassion and insight and encourage balance and clarity, we have found that using guided meditations of as little as ten minutes to start our day makes a big difference. We are more peaceful, focused and enthusiastic about our day as well as better connected to those we interact with. That such a simple practice can have such a big impact is evidence that we all need a little quiet time to connect with the space within.
