Dairy Free, Sugar Free, Superfood Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake

Milk shakes, rich, sweet and indulgent are most often associated with junk food, sugar and dairy but that doesn’t have to be so. This thick and creamy superfood shake is dairy free, sugar free and made up of just superfoods, fruit and peanuts.

With bananas as its base, this shake is full of fibre, essential nutrients such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin, and B6 and resistant starch which keeps us fuller for longer. Bananas are rich in pectin which aids digestion and are a good source of prebiotics which encourage the growth of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract and assist the body in nutrient absorption.

Makes 2 Servings


  • ½ tsp vanilla powder
  • 1 tbsp lucuma powder
  • 2 tbsp carob powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 spotty ripe bananas
  • 2½ tbsp cacao powder
  • 2½ cups ice
  • 4 pitted medjool dates


Blend until smooth and creamy. To make this an ice cream, use frozen bananas instead of fresh.
